Questions from the coach’s point of view

Is there a fee for Brilliant-Skills membership and course publication?

No. Membership of Brilliant-Skills does not involve any fees, even the publication of any number of courses is completely free of charge.

What distinguishes the Brilliant Skills Coaches network?

The Brilliant Skills Coaches network is characterized by a diverse, recpectful, interdisciplinary and international network of high-end specialists who usually have many years of coaching experience and are happy to share their knowledge as well as tips and tricks.

What makes Brilliant Skills Courses and Coaches stand out?

Experience has shown that courses in which the coach can respond individually to the course participant are of particular benefit. All Brilliant Skills coaches share their many years of experience at the highest level.

Can I also become a coach as a retired doctor?

Yes, of course! Especially as a retired physician, you can pass on your many years of diverse experience and expertise to younger colleagues. We recommend that you offer “course(s) at the coachee” for this purpose. This type of course does not require your own resources, such as a practice or clinic. These experienced Colleagues can support their Coachee(s) in their own facility worldwide, when the local conditions are suitable for successful courses.

As a retired doctor, do I need my own liability insurance for the course at the coachee?

The course at the coachee is characterised by the fact that the coachee treats his own patient and thus also bears sole medical responsibility. As a coach, you are merely a guest and impart valuable tips. You do not need your own liability insurance in this case.

What should I consider when creating a course?

When creating a course, you should be guided first and foremost by your own experience. Only you know which competences need to be taught so that the course participant can complete your course with profit. Remember not to set the time frame too tight so that the coachee’s individual needs can be addressed.

Why are the courses published without specific details of the respective coach?

There are several aspects to this:

Brilliant-Skills sees itself as a mediator between the coach and the potential course participant/coachee. First, our medical team checks whether a coach and a coachee are a good match. After our evaluation we inform both sides about personal details, so that the parties involved can still decide individually whether the course should be realized.

Our team wants to forward only realistic course requests to the coaches, so that they are not unnecessarily burdened with unvalidated or unrealistic course requests in their daily work.

Doctors also have different individual attitudes towards their personal information on the Internet.
Many coaches do not want to be public and only get to know their potential coachees after the match. Brilliant-Skills is very happy to respect that.

Some coaches, on the other hand, would like more PR for themselves or their institutions and publication of their name in connection with their courses. For these coaches there is the possibility to publish their name and also website on our portal. Prerequisites for this are a personal application and 3 successfully completed Brilliant-Skills courses as a coach.

What can I use as a guideline for pricing?

As coach you are completely free to set your prices. Experience has shown that a good guide for your course price is the return on investment (roi) aspect for the course participant/coachee.

Of course, coaches can also offer courses free of charge. For these courses, only an individual agency fee is to be paid by the course participant (coachee).

What happens after I create a course?

Once you have created a course at Brilliant-Skills, this course will be published on our website at https://www.brilliant-skills.com/courses-offers/ after verification. Prospective course participants then have access to the course information and can submit a corresponding course enquiry.

What happens if someone is interested in my course?

As soon as a course request is received, Brilliant-Skills checks whether this request corresponds to the framework conditions of the course. Brilliant-Skils then contacts the coach, sends him/her the course request and asks whether the coach agrees to the prospective course participant. Once the course has been approved, a suitable course date will be set and forwarded to the prospective course participant together with the name of the coach and, if applicable, the course location. If the prospective course participant agrees to the specific course proposal, he/she registers bindingly.

What happens as soon as someone has made a binding booking for a course?

As soon as a binding course booking has been made, the coach will receive a corresponding message. The coach will discuss and agree further course details directly with the coachee. The course fee will be paid by the coachee into an escrow account four weeks before the scheduled start of the course. Upon completion of the course, Brilliant-Skills will pass on to the coach the course costs determined by the coach.

What exactly does Brilliant Skills do for me?

Brilliant Skills sees itself as a mediator of high-end medical courses. On the Brilliant-Skills platform you have the opportunity to publish your respective course offer in a high-quality context. Brilliant-Skills checks course requests and will only establish contact between the course prospect and the coach if it can be assumed that the course can be successfully delivered.

What remuneration does Brilliant Skills charge?

No costs are incurred by the coach for the successful placement of a course. Brilliant-Skills charges a commission which is shown to the course participant together with the course costs set by the coach as a total course fee.

As a coach, what do I have to worry about and what don’t I have to worry about?

As a coach, you are primarily responsible for communicating the course content. If necessary, you coordinate course details directly with the coachee. Brilliant-Skills will take care of the publication of your course offer, the timing with the prospective course participant and the payment processing.

Keep in mind: The course should be enjoyable and memorable for both you as coach and the coachee. The coachee should go home with the feeling that every minute of the course was valuable.

What documents does Brilliant Skills need from me?

After you have registered as a coach, Brilliant-Skills will check your details. The submission of further documents is usually not required.

Do I need an official permit?

Registration as a coach with Brilliant-Skills does not require official approval, but all coaches are confirmed by insider recommendations.

How does Brilliant Skills check the coachees?

Brilliant-Skills contacts each prospective course participant personally and verifies through our medical team of doctors whether the coachee is suitable for the offered course.

Who is the course aimed at?

Brilliant-Skills courses are aimed at all doctors who have completed their training and who would like to refine or perfect certain techniques and procedures, who would like to learn new treatment methods or who would like to expand the existing range of treatments.

How much experience is required of the coachees?

A completed education and first practical work experience are desirable. As the courses at Brilliant-Skills are always tailored to the individual needs of the coachee, they only unfold their potential when the coachee’s experience forms a bond with the content of the course.

Are Brilliant Skills courses hands-on courses, e.g. can I operate as a coachee?

The answer to this question depends on the type of course.

In the Course at the Coach, patients of the coach are demonstrated to the coachee. Whether or not the coachee is allowed to do hands-on work is determined by the coach and depends on the field, procedure, patient and national regulations.

In contrast to the Course at the Coach, in the Course at the Coachee the course participant treats his/her own patients, with the assistance and guidance of the coach. The Course at the Coachee is the right choice if the trainee wants to perform surgery or perform hands-on procedures.

What does a typical course look like?

The courses at Brilliant-Skills are characterised by the sight-by-sight principle. This means that the coachee, as the only participant in the course, is fully in the focus of the coach, the entire course is tailored to him or her, and the coachee’s questions determine the rhythm of the course.

Does a course also include theoretical knowledge transfer?

Yes, of couse. Even if the courses conveyed through Brilliant Skills are primarily practice-oriented, all topic-related questions can be discussed.

What happens after I have communicated my interest in a course?

After the coachee has expressed interest in a course, Brilliant-Skills contacts the coach. If the coach agrees to run the course, Brilliant-Skills agrees on a specific course date with the coach. The coachee is then informed of the name of the coach, the course location for the course type “Course at the Coach” and possible course dates. If the coachee confirms the date, he or she receives a form for binding course registration and the invoice for the course fees.
